Booking a stay in Syria, step by step
Whether you are planning a weekend in Damascus or a week on the coast, here is how finding, booking and paying for a stay works on ShamStay, and how Hosts get their homes ready for guests.
For guests
From search to check-in

Search by destination and dates
Use Explore to search a city or region, set your dates and guests, and narrow results by distance, price and amenities.

Compare reviewed homes
Each listing shows host-supplied photos, amenities, house rules, capacity and a starting nightly price. Choose dates and guests to check availability and the itemised total before booking.
- 03
Create and verify your account
Sign up as a guest and verify your contact details. Your bookings, messages and documents stay private to your account.
- 04
Request to book and choose how to pay
Review the itemised total and accepted cancellation policy. Valid cash bookings can confirm immediately; online bookings confirm after verified payment. Externally managed properties may also need their reservation system to confirm.

Track your booking
Follow every booking in My bookings and message your Host. A booking is confirmed only when its status says confirmed.
- 06
Stay, and get help if you need it
If something isn't right, open a support case from the Help centre so it can be followed up.
Paying for your stay
Ways to pay
The payment options available depend on the stay and are shown at checkout.
Cash at the property
Review and confirm the cash booking at checkout, then pay the amount due to your Host at the property. Booking confirmation and payment collection are recorded separately.
Online payment
Where an online method is available for a stay, you pay securely at checkout and ShamStay records the payment status.
Bank transfer
Some bookings can be paid by bank transfer, using the bank details and reference shown for your booking.
Clear booking documents
Totals are itemised in SYP, and booking documents are issued from the confirmed booking amounts.
For hosts
From draft to first guest
The full checklist, eligible property types and commission details are in the host guide.

Create a host account
Register with your contact details and hosting city, then verify your email, phone number and identity.
- 02
Prepare your listing
Add the property's address, type, capacity, amenities, photos, price, availability and house rules as a private draft.
- 03
Pass review
ShamStay reviews you as a Host and reviews each property, including evidence that you are allowed to host it.
- 04
Welcome guests
Once approved, your listing appears in search and you manage booking requests, your calendar and messages from the Host workspace.
